A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN FIVE YEARS

In the past five years, Lebron joined the NBA; ipods became necessities; the “Q” replaced the Gund; hybrid cars entered the market; Lance Armstrong won his seventh Tour de France; MSN.com rated Cleveland one of the top ten destination spots in the nation; we said goodbye to Friends and hello to The Simple Life; the Cleveland Ingenuity Festival debuted; two new Supreme Court justices were appointed; young professionals flocked to Cleveland, the fastest growing downtown in the Midwest; the world population exceeded 6 billion; Katie Holmes became a Scientologist; Cleveland was recognized as the “most intelligent community” in the United States; Ben & Jerry’s released over 25 new flavors; the number of downtown Cleveland housing units doubled; Italy won the World Cup; and Cleveland ranked as the most livable City in America.

In the next five years, the Euclid Corridor Transportation Project will connect downtown with University Circle via bus rapid transit; construction of the Flats East Bank neighborhood's new boardwalk, marina, and townhouses will be completed; The Avenue District will be downtown's new upscale neighborhood with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment venues; Corner Alley, a plush martini lounge/bowling alley will join House of Blues and Pickwick and Frolic on East 4th Street; the Ohio driving age will change to 18 years-old; the Port of Cleveland will be relocated to accommodate public parks, a golf course, and retailers on the Lakefront; and Stark Enterprises will replace 21 acres of surface parking lots in the warehouse district with retail, residential, and office buildings.

Who will you be in five years?

The self-starting entrepreneur confidently seeking venture capital

The struggling artist who would rather buy paint brushes than dinner

The compassionate activist committed to saving the world from global warming

The tech geek who can repeat 247 numbers of pi

The overextended premed student addicted to caffeine

Whoever you’ll be in five years, the City has the resources to help you build your foundation in Cleveland.

We have gourmet restaurants, dozens of concert venues, 52,000 acres of Metroparks, hot nightlife, trendy neighborhoods, and world-class entertainment and cultural institutions. Summers in Cleveland offer the Ingenuity Festival, Harborfest, Sparx Street Beats, outdoor performers, and sandy beaches. Refer to the calendar below or click here for scheduled events, concerts, games, and suggested dining.

Living downtown has never been more inviting. Young professionals are creating new energy and flocking to remodeled lofts and apartments. You can rent a spacious penthouse in the Osborn Building for the same price as a cramped studio apartment in Chicago. Cleveland is emerging as a 24-hour city with all the amenities to accommodate the increasing population. So, what will it be: River, Lake, or City view?

Because Cleveland is a smaller city, young professionals climb up the corporate ladder faster. They interact with regional leaders and national CEOs, serve on distinguished boards, and carry influence at their workplace. Offering invaluable experience and unlimited resources, Cleveland provides a solid foundation for both employees and entrepreneurs.
